Disclosed is a target sensing method using a dual mode hybrid sensor based on an optical fiber optical system. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the target sensing method using a dual mode hybrid sensor comprises the steps of: receiving a laser optical signal from the outside; calculating a first target position of a target object based on the laser optical signal; controlling a gimbal in order to adjust an orientation direction of the sensor based on the first target position; transceiving an RF signal in the orientation direction after finishing the control of the gimbal; calculating a second target position of the target object based on the RF signal; and calculating target position information on the target object by using at least one between the first target position and the second target position.
