The present invention relates to a liquid crystal medium comprising component A consisting of one or more compounds of the formula I, and corresponding novel mesogenic compounds and their preparation. The invention also relates to the use of said liquid crystal medium, in particular its use in components for high frequency technology, and said type of components containing the medium according to the invention, and to the process and use of these components. The components according to the invention are particularly suitable for phase shifters, in particular so-called adjustable " reflectarrays " of microwave and millimeter wave regions for microwave and millimeter wave array antennas.(I) In the above equation, the variables have respective meanings as described in claims and specification.
