The method and apparatus induce potential customers to visit the website. In one aspect, the user participation activity of the visitors of the website is aggregated. The aggregated user participation activity is compared with at least one predetermined criterion. If the activity meets one or more of the criteria, the activity may be parsed to identify potential keywords from the search queries that generated the query results. A potential keyword value score can be calculated for each of the potential keywords. Potential keywords with sufficiently similar potential keyword value scores can be grouped to provide a group value score, and then the group value score can be compared to information about the bid cost for the keywords. Then, in response to comparing the group value scores, a determination may be made as to whether to bid on potential keywords in the group.
