Method and Apparatus for Analyzing Ship Traffic Characteristics with Port Entry and Departure Data

A method for analyzing ship traffic characteristics with port entry and departure data and an apparatus thereof are disclosed. Embodiments of the present invention provides an apparatus for analyzing ship traffic for a long period of time by using port entry and departure data to reduce limitations of ship traffic analysis technology using navigation data of an existing auto identification system (AIS). The apparatus for analyzing ship traffic comprises: a gate line conversion unit for calculating position coordinates for each of a plurality of unit sections (hereinafter referred to as gate lines) of a passage route in a port, calculating an average moving speed of each of the plurality of gate lines for each characteristic of a ship by using navigation data, and storing, in a passage route gate line data base, the calculated position coordinates for each of the plurality of gate lines and the average moving speed for each characteristic of the ship; a data analyzing unit for extracting gate lines on a movement path of each ship based on the port entry and departure data, calculating a passing time of each ship by the average moving speed for the gate lines on the movement path of each of the ship and the each gate line on the movement path of each ship, and storing the same in the passage route gate line data base; and a passage statistic data generation unit for extracting the passing time of the ship by each gate line for the ship to be analyzed and a section to be analyzed requested by a user and generating traffic statistic data of a passage route on the ship to be analyzed and the section to be analyzed by using the extracted passing time of the ship by each gate line.
