A variable gain amplifier comprises: an amplifying circuit amplifying first and second differential input signals to generate first and second differential output signals, and including at least one transistor with a first type; and a gain adjusting and phase compensating circuit connected to first and second output terminals of the amplifying circuit for outputting the first and second differential output signals, adjusting a gain of the first and second differential output signals based on a control signal, compensating for a phase change, and including a first transistor with a second type opposite to the first type. The first transistor includes: a first electrode connected to the first output terminal of the amplifying circuit; a second electrode connected to the second output terminal of the amplifying circuit; and a control electrode receiving the control signal.
