The present invention relates to a buckling-restrained bracing member for seismic retrofit that prevents buckling upon the frame reinforcing of various structures, suppresses softness of the structures from being decreased, and is easily made. According to the present invention, the buckling-restrained bracing member for seismic retrofit, which is coupled to the inner side of a frame to reinforce the frame, includes: a rod-shaped core material; fixing plates extended from both ends of the core material in such a manner as to be expanded in width; a main casing having a pair of unit casings whose sections are C-shaped in such a manner as to couple open side end portions thereof to each other to surround the core material and portions of the fixing plates; and restraint plates spaced apart from each other in the inner surface of each unit casing and having shapes corresponding to the inner surface of each unit casing in such a manner as to be welded and coupled to the inner surface of each unit casing, each restraint plate having an insertion groove formed on one side thereof to a shape corresponding to the section of the core material in such a manner as to be supported by inserting the core material thereinto.
