The present invention provides an inspection system of an overhead power line which can inspect a potential defect of an overhead power line, and an inspection method thereof. According to the present invention, the inspection system of an overhead power line comprises a drone (10), and an operation terminal (20) operating the drone (10). In the drone (10), an X-ray irradiation device (14) irradiating X-rays to an overhead power line (30) to be inspected, and an X-ray reception device (15) receiving the X-rays penetrating the overhead power line, are supported to face each other with the overhead power line interposed between the X-ray irradiation device and the X-ray reception device. The X-rays, which are irradiated from the X-ray irradiation device (14) to penetrate the overhead power line, are received by the X-ray reception device (15) in accordance with a direction from the operation terminal (20), and reception information thereof is transmitted to the operation terminal (20).;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2019
