The present invention relates to a device for cutting a radioactive-contaminated waste-drum and a method for cutting a waste-drum using the same so as to prevent the scattering of flame generated during the cutting process of the waste-drum and prevent the emission of harmful gas, thereby ensuring the safety, and so as to automate the cutting process, so that the cutting time per unit time is shortened and the product competitiveness is strengthened. The device for cutting a radioactive-contaminated waste-drum of the present invention includes: a support frame (10); a turntable (20) rotatably provided on the support frame (10) to provide rotational force to the waste-drum; a housing (30) disposed on the support frame (10) to surround the turntable (20), and provided with a door (310) and an outlet (330); a cutting device (50) having a torch (54) to cut the waste-drum; and an elevating device (40) vertically installed on the support frame (10) to elevate and lower the torch (54).;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2019
