(a) providing a thermoplastic polymeric material comprising one or more polyester polymers and a combination of one or more different meltable metal phosphinates or different meltable metal phosphinates; And (b) meltblowing the thermoplastic polymer material into one or more fibers or fibers, each fiber having a diameter or thickness less than about 10 microns. The metal phosphinate is an amount that acts as a crystallizing agent when melt-blowing a thermoplastic polymer material into one or more fibers, (a) decreasing the viscosity of the polyester polymer and (b) at least promoting crystallization of the polyester polymer. The fibers fabricated from the present process can be used to make nonwoven and woven fibrous structures.
