A method for obtaining antenna diversity and a spatial multiplexing gain through machine learning in a line-of-sight (LoS) multi-antenna communication system and an apparatus thereof are presented. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the apparatus for obtaining antenna diversity and a spatial multiplexing gain comprises: a transmission unit including a plurality of transmission antennas; and a reception unit including a plurality of reception antennas for receiving signals from at least a part of the plurality of transmission antennas, wherein the transmission unit can select at least some of the plurality of transmission antennas in a multiple input multiple output (MIMO) communication system in a LoS channel environment and transmit the signals to the plurality of reception antennas.
