The present invention relates to an autonomous self-returning unmanned aerial system (UAS) and a method to change a pre-programmed flight pattern based on a launch trajectory. According to a scenario of the present invention, the autonomous self-returning UAS comprises: a power supply apparatus; a sub-frame formed to support one or more propellers; a transceiver formed to transmit and receive a wireless frequency position signal; and a flight path generator which, when the autonomous self-returning UAS has been launched, determines the starting position, to which the autonomous self-returning UAS returns, selects a pre-programmed flight pattern for the autonomous self-returning UAS to fly and return to the starting position, and changes the pre-programmed flight pattern in accordance with the determined launch trajectory. Here, the autonomous self-returning UAS, before returning with the selected pre-programmed flight pattern, flies at least for a certain period along the changed flight pattern. According to the present invention, the system is able to form a return path to allow the UAS to return with a pre-programmed flight pattern.
