Disclosed is a method using neighbors to efficiently and reliably process danger of a person who lives alone. According to the present invention, a management server determines whether a current situation is a dangerous situation through an embedded dangerous situation determination algorithm based on detection information received from a set-top box installed in a house of a person who lives alone. When the dangerous situation is determined, the management server transmits a control command to a set-top box of a neighbor house to output a help message. The dangerous situation processing program embedded in the set-top box of the neighbor house extracts identification information of a house of the person who lives alone from the control command to combine the identification information with a preset help message so as to display the combined message on a display device.
