The present invention relates to an anti-fouling agent and a use of a comb or block copolymer produced by controlled free radical polymerization as an antifouling agent in a washing process. A further aspect of the present invention is a method of preventing contamination adherence during washing and more easily releasing contamination from textile, and a detergent formulation containing said comb or block copolymer.
