According to one embodiment of the present invention, provided is a method for steering a beam of an active phase array (AESA) antenna, which includes an antenna unit in which a plurality of transception modules (TRMs) are disposed, and comprises the steps of: receiving a steering angle and a reference distance for steering a beam, wherein the reference distance is a distance from which a target can be positioned when steering the beam at the steering angle; determining a near-field or a far-field based on the reference distance; obtaining a converted steering angle for each TRM based on position information of each TRM, the steering angle, and the reference distance, if determined to be the near-field; and deriving a phase value for each TRM based on the converted steering angle, and controlling each TRM based on the derived phase value.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2019
