According to the present invention, a resident existence estimating method using CO_2 concentration and a PIR signal is capable of preventing the existence of a resident in a room from being misjudged when the CO_2 concentration is changed due to ventilation by calculating a value, which is made by deducting a preset CO_2 concentration decrement rate from a previous existence probability, as a current CO_2 concentration-based existence probability without determining nonexistence when the CO_2 concentration is reduced. Moreover, since the CO_2 concentration decrement rate is set differently depending on preset conditions, the determination of existence can become more accurate. Moreover, since a PIR signal-based existence probability is calculated by applying a preset PIR signal-based decrement rate without determining nonexistence directly even when the PIR signal is 0, existence can be prevented from being misjudged as nonexistence in accordance with the sensitivity of a sensor, its sensing range and movement of a resident.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2020
