According to an embodiment of the present invention, provided is a smoking article to which a sidestream modification technology is applied. The smoking article comprises: a smoking material unit wrapped with a smoking material wrapper; a filter unit having an upstream end coupled to the smoking material unit and wrapped with a filter wrapper; and a tipping wrapper surrounding at least a portion of the smoking material unit and the filter unit such that the smoking material unit and the filter unit are coupled to each other. The smoking material wrapper is applied with a perfume comprising a first perfume material selected from vanillin, ethyl vanillin, and ethyl vanillin glucoside.
