The essence of the group of inventions consists in that a method for giving gifts in a social network environment comprises determining a set of gifts, assigning digital identifiers to the gifts, selecting of digital identifiers by users of the social network, and sending said identifiers to other users of the social network, and is characterized in that from the senders and/or the recipients of the digital identifiers, a base of participants in a gift lottery draw is formed corresponding to the digital identifiers that were sent, after which winners are chosen from the base of participants in the gift lottery draw and the winners are given the lottery draw gifts; and a system for giving gifts in a social network environment comprises a social network, a set of digital identifiers, and an interface for selecting and sending digital identifiers, and is characterized in that it comprises a set of gifts corresponding to the digital identifiers, a base of gift lottery draw participants formed from the senders and/or the recipients of digital identifiers, and a module for selecting winners from the base of gift lottery draw participants.
