Device for interchanging clamping frames at an assembly station for vehicle body parts comprises a storage device for the clamping frames, having a plurality of controlled movable, receivers and a conveyor for transporting the clamping frames between the receivers and the working sector of the assembly station. Clamping frames enter the receivers in a fixed position. Interchanging device has another feeding device which is connected to the receivers. Assembly station comprises said device for interchanging clamping frames. Method of interchanging clamping frames for body parts at the assembly station consists in that clamping frames are stored in a storage device, clamping frames are transported and changed between the receivers and the working sector, clamping frames enter a fixed position in the receivers and, using another feeding device, they are transported and changed between receivers.;EFFECT: improved organisation of transport and storage of clamping frames.;37 cl, 14 dwg
