System and a method for optimization of alarm settings of a clinical alarm algorithm comprise acquiring clinical monitoring data (CMD) employed by the clinical alarm algorithm over a user-defined period of time. Proposed settings are determined for one or more parameters of the clinical alarm algorithm.
