Consider the presence of chronic heart failure, atrial fibrillation, ascites, treatment of other diseases with anticoagulants, post-infarction cardiosclerosis, or myocardial infarction during the present hospitalization. Probability of pulmonary thromboembolism from the right atrial appendage is assessed.
