Valve controller (12), (13), (24) comprises adjustable valve clearance compensation element (27). In order to adjust and control the valve clearance, valve clearance compensation element (27) comprises a variable in its spatial expansion element (30) and cam shaft pressure sensing element (31; 32). Disclosed is a method for a valve train of an internal combustion engine and method for a valve clearance compensating element of a valve train.;EFFECT: technical result is the possibility of operation of the valve train almost without clearance.;14 cl, 4 dwg
