METHOD OF COMBINED CULTIVATION OF PACIFIC MUSSEL

FIELD: fish-breeding.;SUBSTANCE: method involves the transfer of mussels from a sublittoral area to a mobile offshore unit consisting of floats connected in series with each other by a carrying cable. Containers located one under another hang from the floats. Containers are made of lattice plastic and open at the top. Groups of containers are covered with netting with openings for removing mussels. Cultivation of mussels begin in May – July. Unit with mussels is placed at a distance of 50 m from a seaboard at a depth of more than 6 m. Container comprises mussels with a size of 30 mm and more than 3 years old with a biomass of more than 4 kg that are transplanted from the sublittoral area, emitting metabolites in the course of their vital activity, contributing to the formation of abundant spatha in netting and containers.;EFFECT: method allows obtaining Pacific mussel of commercial size without foreign impurities.;1 cl, 1 dwg
