Montmorillonite sodium form is dispersed in an aqueous medium and chemically treated with zwitterionic surfactant from the betaine class and imidazolines based on amount of surfactant equivalent to at least 0.2 capacity of cation exchange of mineral. Modified montmorillonite is washed from excess surfactants, extracted in high-speed centrifuge with subsequent drying and grinding.;EFFECT: disclosed invention improves functional properties of layer-silicate nanomaterials and widens range of obtained nanomaterials based on modified layered silicates.;1 cl, 2 dwg
