FIELD: physics.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biometric authentication systems. Described are biometric registration and verification techniques for eye vesicles surrounding the eye areas and face areas. Eye-surrounding regions of the image can be specified based on dimensions of the eye area identified on the image of the region of the face. It is possible to form descriptors of features for points of interest in eye and surrounding eyes areas using a combination of descriptors of structured histogram features. Quality indicators for regions can be determined based on estimates of values of areas calculated based on texture surrounding points of interest. Biometric matching process for calculating the coincidence assessment based on the eye and surrounding eye regions can gradually include additional eye areas to obtain high accuracy of matching.;EFFECT: technical result consists in wider range of the same purpose tools.;17 cl, 7 dwg
