FIELD: optics.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an optical device having a function of measuring distance, as well as to a network of threads built into the optical device and to a survey method using an optical device. Disclosed optical device having a function of measuring distance (L) from reference point (P0) to observation point (P1) visible on the optical axis of the telescope comprises: network of threads installed in telescope and having right and left reference marks made on both sides from optical axis in locations at specified distance from optical axis in horizontal direction, and a design part configured to calculate central coordinates of the cylindrical structure using coordinates (xa, ya) of the reference point P0 of the optical device, coordinates (xb, yb) of the point (P1) on the cylindrical structure visible on the optical axis in a state in which only one of right and left reference marks coincides with face of cylindrical structure, optical axis is located on surface of cylindrical structure, as well as using angle (θ) of the aperture between the optical axis and the reference mark and the radius (r) of the cylindrical structure.;EFFECT: simplification of measurement of central coordinates of columnar body even when device can not keep sufficient distance from columnar body.;13 cl, 1 tbl, 16 dwg
