FIELD: transportation.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to railway transport, particularly, to friction dampers of oscillations of freight car bogies. Vibration damper comprises spring set and two friction wedges. Wedges are located in pockets of bolster and consist of two mirror parts. On side walls of pocket of bolster, wear-resistant inserts are installed. Lower part of pocket includes platform for support of external spring of spring set and hole for inner spring. Internal spring rests against friction wedge. In the inner wedge side walls, there are openings for the spacer installation. Spring presses parts of wedge with outer walls to wear-resistant inserts of pocket of bolster.;EFFECT: higher running qualities of freight car bogie.;4 cl, 5 dwg
