FIELD: chemistry.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method and a system for purifying water from volatile or semi-volatile compounds. Proposed method comprises heating contaminated water to temperature of 103–120 °C to produce superheated contaminated water to be immediately flashed to produce contaminated superheated steam. Further, superheated steam undergoes a stage of thermal oxidation of volatile or semi-volatile compounds contained therein to produce steam-gas products of thermal oxidation. Method also includes recycling of heat of steam-gas products of thermal oxidation to process of water overheating by means of heat recycling unit.;EFFECT: higher output of the end product, high efficiency of using energy and cost-effective removal of volatile compounds from contaminated water without the need to use a steam or air distillation process and without the need for additional treatment of purified water.;21 cl, 3 dwg
