FIELD: machine building.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods and systems for operation of hybrid power plant. In the drive system operation method, the fuel supply to all the engine cylinders is terminated and the actual total number of the engine cylinders with the operating disk-type valves is controlled and the actual total number of the engine cylinders with the disconnected plate valves, in response to the drive system braking moment during the vehicle deceleration by the controller and stopping the motor rotation in response to the vehicle operation in which the engine is operating, not in sports mode and sufficient bearing capacity by torque of electric machine to provide braking moment of drive system. Also, the method further holds engine cylinder valves closed in response to vehicle operation in sport mode and sufficient torque carrying capacity of electrical machine, to provide braking torque of drive system and stop engine rotation in response to operation of vehicle not in sports mode and sufficient bearing capacity in torque of electric machine to provide braking torque of drive system.;EFFECT: reduced time of response of drive system to request to increase torque of drive system.;16 cl, 8 dwg
