A method for the production of shaped to near net shape - silicon carbide ceramics

It is a method for producing silicon carbide - ceramics by means of liquid - or gas phases; silicon with the steps of: (a) preparing a mixture of thermoplastic binder and a sinterable carbon precursor; (b) forming the mixture to form a green compact by means of a final contours molding process, preferably by means of extrusion or injection moulding; (c) to pyrolise of the green compact, for the preparation of a porous semi-finished product; (d) with silicon infiltration of the porous semifinished product by liquid - or vapour phase infiltration.
