The method involves aligning bar (5) on target points in front of vehicle based on predetermined height relative to ground (S) and along an axis. A camera (4) is attached to windshield (3) having a focal point which is extended to a certain height (hc) relative to ground. The position of target points (6-8) in front of vehicle (1) is calculated with a given coordinate in the image plane of camera. The resolution of translation components is determined based on height of each target point and height of camera.
