One aspect of the invention relates to a driving system for automated driving for a motor vehicle. The driving system includes a steering wheel display with a light strip structure. The light strip structure is preferably integrated in the steering wheel rim. The light strip structure is preferably a ring. The luminous band structure of the steering wheel display is luminous in a defined luminous color (eg blue) with variable length depending on the control. The driving system is configured to control the steering wheel display such that during automated driving the strip light structure illuminates on an output length in the light color. The driving system, upon approaching a leading end of automated driving, determines that the vehicle has approached a leading automated driving endpoint such that a certain approximate condition is met. In response, the steering wheel display is controlled such that, as the distance to the automated driving end point decreases, the lighthouse structure illuminates from the initial length of successively decreasing length in the luminescent color to prepare the driver to fully or at least restore vehicle guidance partially to take over.
