The invention relates to a generator housing (1) for a generator, having a wall (2, 3), which delimits a chamber (6, 7) and has a through-hole, having a cooling channel (5), through which a cooling fluid can flow during operation of the generator, in order to cool the generator, and which extends in the through-hole and in the chamber (6, 7), and having an insert body (8, 9), which is inserted into the chamber (6, 7) and has an entry opening which abuts the through-hole, is of at least partially identical shape to the through-hole and abuts the through-hole in a flush manner, the insert body (8, 9) therefore delimiting the flow channel (5) in the chamber (6, 7) such that, at least in the region of the identically shaped and flush-abutment entry opening, the cooling fluid can flow in a stepless manner from the through-hole into the chamber (6, 7).
