The present invention is to provide a mobile handset / terminal with an application module for secure communication with a smart card. The smartcard may be a UICC or a storage medium (eg: SD card) configured in the form of UICC or SIM form factor and held in a UICC slot. The application module is configured on the mobile terminal so that the application module can be adapted to read a memory of the smart card after authentication and to securely communicate between them via an ATK library, thereby providing the mobile terminal with secure storage.
