The invention relates to a method for coupling vehicles (1, 2) which have been selected for a journey from a common starting point (3.1) to a common destination point (3.2) to a vehicle network, wherein exactly one vehicle (1) is set as the master vehicle and every other vehicle (2) is set as a slave vehicle and wherein a slave vehicle (2) follows a guideway (3) predetermined by the master vehicle (1). The master vehicle (1) determines a route (3) from the starting point (3.1) to the destination point (3.2) and transmits it to each slave vehicle (2). Each vehicle (1, 2) travels autonomously along the travel path (3) and controlled in such a way that the distance between a slave vehicle (2) and the master vehicle (1) does not exceed a predetermined maximum distance. The invention further relates to a vehicle composite formed by this method.
