The invention relates to a method for teaching a model for person recognition using images of a camera 100, wherein the method comprises at least one reading step, in which a detection signal 135, the detected person within a surveillance area at least the camera 100 of a camera network represented, is read. The method further comprises at least one collecting step, in which a plurality of image signals 140 are collected from the camera 100 using the read detection signal 135, wherein the collected image signals 140 represent a captured image detail from each image of the camera 100. Finally, the method comprises at least one adaptation step, in which the person recognition model is adapted using the collected image signals 140 to recognize the detected person in an image of the camera 100 or at least a second camera of the camera network.
