Magnetically switchable nano-objects with inherently covalently attached functional molecules and controlled molecular recognition for the effective connection, collection and extraction of valuable substances or contamination from the solution or water
Magnetically switchable nano-objects with inherently covalently attached functional molecules and controlled molecular recognition for the effective connection, collection and extraction of valuable substances or contamination from the solution or water
Core-shell nanoparticles with magnetically switchable core and thermally / mechanically stable attachment of the shell to the core (preferably via covalent chemical bonds or salt bridges). While the shell exhibits a specific functionalization for the binding of desired substances from solutions / mixtures (see protective rights 2-), the anchor group serves to connect the core and the shell. This attachment (for example, by salt bridges or covalent bonds) causes the entire nanoparticle is sufficiently stable to remain in the context of technical processes such as circulating / rinsing mixtures, mixtures / demixing of solutions. In particular, the core-shell nanoparticles can be used as a carrier material for substance separation by means of magnetic separation. Examples of claim 1 are superparamagnetic iron oxide (magnetite) nanoparticles, preferably 50 nm diameter, which are covalently attached to a molecular shell by strong ionic interactions with phosphonic acids / phosphonates as an anchor group. The outer parts of these molecules, hereinafter referred to as the surface-relevant part of the shell, can be functionalized individually.
