A method of driving a multi-engine bay (10) according to which the following steps are performed: a) the bay is controlled so that it provides a desired thrust and that each engine is operated according to a set of functional limits for the engine ; b) periodically evaluating a damage (ENDO) of each of the engines, the damage of an engine being information representative of a probability of engine failure; c) for each engine, it is periodically evaluated whether its damage (ENDO) exceeds a predetermined value (ENDO_S); and d) if the damage of a motor said damaged engine exceeds a predetermined value, modifying at least a functional limitation of the damaged engine so that the damage speed of the damaged engine (dENDO / dt) is less than one pre-determined maximum engine damage speed (dENDO / dt_max).
