The invention relates to a method for the automated calibration of a pneumatic brake system (101), in which the pneumatic properties of the aeration circuit and of the venting circuit are determined by using measured pressure profiles in the brake system (101), and the parameters of the brake control (115) of the pneumatic brake system (101) are adjusted automatically by using the determined pneumatic properties of the aeration circuit and of the venting circuit. The invention further relates to an automated calibratable brake system (101) which is able to carry out the method for automated calibration.
