METHOD FOR REGISTERING IMPLANT ORIENTATION DIRECTLY FROM A DENTAL IMPRESSION

A system for registering implant orientation directly from a dental impression for acquiring data by imaging the dental impression, the system comprising an implant position transfer body. The implant position transfer body comprising an implant side to mate with a dental implant affixed in a patient's jawbone, and an impression side having a terminus structure at its end. The transfer body is mated atop the dental implant, the impression side may applied in a dental impression material, that when hardens, creates a defined cavity in a dental impression. The system further comprises a scan body that securely fits into the dental impression, whereby the position and orientation of the implant may be acquired by scanning the dental impression having the scan body.
