Side channel blowers having devices for minimizing noise emissions are known, but are often not adequate and limit the volumetric flow to be delivered, or have low efficiency. For that reason, what is proposed is a side channel blower in which the first and the second lateral edges (64, 66) span a first plane E1 which, together with a second plane E2 that is spanned by the ejection opening (60), encloses an angle α ≥ 30°, such that the outlet opening (62) extends into the radially bounding wall (33). An embodiment of this kind substantially increases the efficiency and the maximum volumetric flow to be delivered.
