A system of automatic setting and shutting down a standby current of an electrical outlet by plug insertion (221) may include an electric outlet which includes:;a plug hole (TH) into which a plug (100) of an electrical appliance is insertable, a detector for plug insertion (221) outputting a plug insertion detecting signal corresponding to whether the plug (100) of the electrical appliance is inserted in the plug hole (TH), a current detector outputting a current detecting signal corresponding to current flowing through the plug hole (TH), a switching part mounted between a power supply cable which supplies power and the plug hole (TH), and an electrical outlet control part connected with the detector for plug insertion (221), the current detector and the switching part, wherein if the electrical outlet control part determines based on the plug insertion detecting signal output from the detector for plug insertion (221) that the electrical appliance is inserted in the plug hole (TH) at current state, not inserted in the plug hole (TH) at previous state, the electrical outlet control part outputs a control signal (to the switching part and causes the switching part to be connection state so as to supply power from the power supply cable to the plug hole (TH), and the electrical outlet control part detects current currently consumed by the plug hole based on the current detecting signal transmitted from the current detector and determines the currently detected current as a standby current of the plug hole.
