An improved gas cooker (1) comprising a box-like housing (2) delimiting an upper compartment (3) and a lower compartment (4) divided by a horizontal metal plate (5) interposed therebetween and in fluid communication with each other through a series of slits (6) formed in the plate (5), a hob (22) located on top of the upper compartment (3) and comprising a plurality of burners (23), an oven (29) housed in the lower compartment (4) and comprising a front opening (30), a pivoting door (32) for selectively closing the compartment (4) and at least one grill device (32), a front panel (35) mounted to the front edge (36) of the upper compartment (3) and comprising control means (37) connected to the burners (23) and the oven (29) and adapted to be operated by a user and an exhaust path (38) for fumes and combustion products of the oven. The gas cooker (1) comprises a folded metal sheet (41) accommodated in the upper compartment (3) at the slits (6) and having lateral lower edges (42) contacting the plate (5) to define a conduit (43) adapted to establish fluid communication between the slits (6) and the exhaust path (38) and separate it from the rest of the upper compartment (3) which houses the control means (37), to prevent them and the front panel (35) from being overheated.
