In embodiments, a wearable medical (WM) system includes ECG electrodes (109, 209, 309, 409, 591, 592, 593, 594, 609), and a support structure (170, 370, 470, 670) that can be worn by an ambulatory patient (82, 282, 382) so as to maintain the ECG electrodes on the patient's body. Then later portions (742) of the ECG signal are sensed and compared (732, 1132) against the reference template, to determine if there is a specific problem. If it is so determined, the output device can output an alert.
