HCV NS4A/modified NS3 polypeptides and uses thereof

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a modified hepatitis C virus polypeptide. A method for detecting an antibody against hepatitis C virus in a biological sample containing a hepatitis C virus NS4a domain and a modified NS3 domain, wherein (a) an immunoassay reagent is provided, and (b) HCV. A step of binding an HCV antibody to a polypeptide to form a first immune complex when the antibody is present in a biological sample, and (c) a first immune complex obtained from step (b) with a labeled detector. The step of adding to the above, in which the labeled detector is reactive to the first immune complex, and (d) the labeled detector and the first as indicators of the presence of an antibody against hepatitis C virus in the biological sample.
