To provide an ultraviolet irradiation unit, an ultraviolet irradiation device, and a barrier discharge lamp, capable of obtaining irradiation characteristics according to a request.SOLUTION: An ultraviolet irradiation unit of an embodiment includes a barrier discharge lamp and an external electrode. The barrier discharge lamp has an arc tube and an internal electrode. The arc tube is filled with gas and transmits ultraviolet light. The arc tube has a cylindrical shape. The internal electrode is disposed inside the arc tube, and extends in the tube axis direction of the arc tube. The external electrode is provided on an outer surface side of the arc tube so as to face the internal electrode, and covers the arc tube in the circumferential direction of the arc tube within the range of more than 180° and 300° or less, or within the range of more than 300° and 330° or less.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
