To provide an evaluation method of objectively evaluating skin luster, to provide a skin luster improver, and to provide a search method of the skin luster improver.SOLUTION: The invention provides an evaluation method of skin luster which determines the skin with luster when the obtained mirror reflectivity and diffuse reflectance after the entrance of polarized light into the skin surface fulfills a given condition. The invention provides a skin luster improver by compounding an alkali metal salt of alkoxy salicylic acid and trimethylglycine. The invention provides a search method of the skin luster improver which can search a sample capable of improving a mirror reflectivity by using a significant reduction of surface roughness as an indicator.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 10
