To provide an improved uplink control frame structure and technique for uplink signal scheduling to improve the system performance in a situation where signal collision occurs or is likely to occur.SOLUTION: A user equipment (UE) that performs control signal transmission according to a single-segment subframe format is described. In an aspect, the UE selects a single- segment subframe format as an uplink transmission format for a subframe instead of a multi-segment subframe format . This selection may be based on an indication received by a network node that the single-segment subframe format is to be used for transmission of the one or more control signals. In addition, the UE transmits the one or more control signals on an uplink control channel using the single-segment subframe format.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
