To improve life of a charging chute by preventing a refractory constituting an inclined surface, that is a bottom surface of a chute hole, from falling off even if the inclined surface is inclined downward by 50° or more with respect to a horizontal direction.SOLUTION: A charging chute 11 made of the refractory according to the present invention that is provided on a side wall of an upper tank 5 of an RH vacuum degassing apparatus includes a chute hole 16 formed of a downwardly inclined surface, in which the chute hole is constituted with at least the inclined surface made of the refractory, in addition, the downward angle θ of the inclined surface is 50° or more, the refractory, constituting the inclined surface and constructed in a range closer to a center side of the upper tank than a steel shell forming the side wall of the upper tank, is composed of upper and lower stages of an upper stage chute exit refractory 15C and a lower stage chute exit refractory 15D, the upper stage chute exit refractory is constructed with resting on the lower stage chute exit refractory, and in addition, a center of gravity of the lower stage chute exit refractory is located within 265 mm from an inner surface of the side wall steel shell of the upper tank.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
