PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a particle diameter measuring system and a particle diameter measuring method with which the particle diameter of fine particles can be simply measured at a low cost.SOLUTION: Image processing means 5 comprises: image correlation analysis means 51 for analyzing the correlation state of two or more pieces of image data of the cases where there are fine particles and no fine particle; threshold calculation means 52 for calculating a threshold of brightness of the two or more pieces of image data; image edge extraction means 53 for extracting an edge part of the image data on the basis of the threshold; diffraction circle extraction means 54 for extracting a diffraction circle on the basis of the extracted image edge; circle radius detection means 55 for detecting a radius of the extracted diffraction circle; and diffraction angle calculation means 56 for calculating a diffraction angle θ on the basis of the extracted radius and focal distance of an optical system provided in imaging means. Particle diameter calculation means 6 calculates a radius and diameter of a fine particle on the basis of the diffraction angle calculated by the diffraction angle calculation means.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
