To provide a shear stress generating device which easily applies shear stress in-vitro to blood, corpuscles or coagulation related factors.SOLUTION: A shear stress generating device includes: a first blood storing part; a second blood storing part; a narrowing part which is connected to respective inflow ports of the first and second blood storing parts and by which the first and second blood storing parts communicate; and first and second movable parts for making the blood stored in the first and second blood storing parts air-tightly flow in/out relative to the narrowing part. When the first movable part moves in a direction for approaching the narrowing part, the second movable part moves in a direction for separating from the narrowing part, and when the first movable part moves in the direction for separating from the narrowing part, the second movable part moves in the direction for approaching the narrowing part. According to reciprocating motion of the first and second movable parts, the blood is reciprocated to the narrowing part so that shear stress is applied to the blood or a blood component. Additionally, there are provided: a system comprising the shear stress generating device, for analyzing decomposition of a VWF high molecular weight multimer; and a method for analyzing decomposition of the VWF high molecular weight multimer by using the device.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
